Background of concrete densifiers
Concrete densifiers have been used since about the time of World War 2. Concrete, when it is laid, believe it or not is very porous. When pores are present, it is very easy for water to penetrate into them. When that water freezes, it expands and that causes damage to the concrete mostly causing cracks. Concrete densifiers were invented to allow a silicon molecule to penetrate into those pours causing them to be plugged up, ultimately stopping water from causing cracking. Without these densifiers, concrete does not last nearly as long. :)
